Hospice volunteers play an essential role in providing compassion, comfort, peace and support to individuals at a critical point in their lives. Being a hospice volunteer offers you the chance to have a lasting impact on our hospice clients and their loved ones. Our volunteers find the experience personally gratifying, intellectually stimulating and emotionally meaningful.
How can you help?
You do not need any special qualifications to volunteer – just a kind smile, a warm heart and compassion for people. Our volunteers deliver mental, emotional and spiritual care, providing comfort when people need it most.
Here are some of the ways volunteers can make a difference at Liberty Hospice:
- Visit hospice clients
- Offer companionship and support
- Read or write for clients
- Celebrate the special moments
- Provide pet support visits
- Check in with clients/family members virtually
- Send greeting cards
- Run errands/get groceries for the family
- Support families through their grief journey
For those with the appropriate skills, legal and notary assistance, massage therapy, home repair services or sewing blankets or memory bears are also welcomed.
